A Scribble Scrabble On Life: Laughed At A License Plate (And Other Mundane Things)

DSC_0129

Well this one time we were driving and some black sedan whizzed by and the license plate read something along the lines of GANDALF.

You won’t believe how disappointed I was. There was no pointy gray hat. SACRILEGE.

I’ve always been interested in license plates. I even had a collection of the weirdest ones. I think my favorite was FLYAKITE. Mom didn’t get the reference.

Welcome back to another post of the mundane with your not favorite mundane person. ๐Ÿ˜€

The past two posts have been unusually deep, for some strange reason.ย  Not sure why. My brain is funny sometimes. Anyway, I’m breaking that streak because I couldn’t post stuff like that on a regular basis if my life depended on it. ๐Ÿ˜›

DSC_0116
I dunno what I was doing here, but I definitely thought it was funny. XD

How are you, huh?

Ooh, looky- it’s SNOWING.ย  The sun was shining a few minutes ago. I wish I had my camera, but there’s no way I’m stepping out in in 10 degree weather. And that’s in Farenheit, too. It’s cold. It’s beautiful. It’s cold. I’m shivering. XD

Library stuff. The other day Dad was free from work, so the reprobates that were us kids drove to the library to “work”.

HA.

Work.

*dies* That’s kinda funny. XD As if I could actually get work done in a library. Leaving me in a place of books is like taking a two year old to a candy shop- you won’t emerge unscathed.

DSC_0124

I actually did get some homework done though- the nice librarian who knows me as “The girl who’s almost always asking for the obscure American titles” showed me to the encyclopedias, and I think I walked back and forth from my desk to the shelf like…. 20 times? Per hour? SCHOOL. WHY.

Came back home with…. um.. tenish books? Does one count comics? And I owe 2.80 to the library now. Oops. And my card expires in 30 days. *sobs* The injustice.

DSC_0119

I’m not sure whose blog I saw it on, but the bookย Because You’ll Never Meet Me caught my eye, and I spent an hour or so reading it. Mini review- the POVs are really great, the characterization is well done, the concepts are seriously cool, but as for the other elements, I’m still deciding. XD It’s a pretty good read though! I also read Girls Can’t Hit and it’s a surprisingly good read as well. *nodnod* Makes me wanna pick up a set of boxing gloves.ย

DSC_0118

Speaking of comics, I screamed unnaturally when the A4 TV spot came on during the Super Bowl. I didn’t even bother to stick around for the game. XD It’s coming and I shouldn’t be this excited, but I am. ENDGAME. AH. I’m too excited. ๐Ÿ˜› Maybe also because I kinda get to nerd my family out with everything Marvel connect with my family a little more. ๐Ÿ™‚ Although I’m not lying about the family part. I got my brother reading 2 comics simply by leaving them out on the shelf. He hates reading. XD I’m counting this as a score. It’s been decided that we’re now pronouncing Tony Stark “Sony Tark.”

DSC_0126

Spiderman can’t be more relatable.

Anyway.

Brief birthday related paragraph. My other brother, also known as the Very Loud And Unusual One Who Plays Electric Guitar And Drives Me Crazy went and decided to get older. Being the good sister I’m not, I ate a slice off his birthday cake. What, he won’t miss it. ๐Ÿ™‚

Weather Intrusion. Wait, wait, THE SUN’S SHINING IN THE SNOW STORM *pokes head out window*

*freezes*

*dies*

*wakes up in Budapest*

Well, that was a mistake. ๐Ÿ˜› I’m dying it’sย cold.ย Sent hot cocoa over here! ๐Ÿ˜›

I’ve been desperately trying to catch up school-wise, which isn’t too bad if I just got my homework actually done, it feels like I live at this get up:

DSC_0112
Break down: Tiny black laptop balancing precariously on the edge of the abstract art couch is actually a DVD player. Main laptop is the thing I can’t live without due to its can’tlivewithoutqualites. Papers over there are the evil fatale assignments I had to go overtime to barely finish.ย

Which, I gotta say, is really, really nice, but it gets tiring over time. So what better way to switch things up than to say, do the art tutorials on The Art Lab?

Art Dump. *facepalm* Sometimes I question my sanity.

DSC_0120

I spent so long at that paintiiiing- and the marker bled through. ๐Ÿ˜กย  Oh well. It was rather fun trying to be artistic- and my other brother said he liked it. But still. those clouds look terrible.

DSC_0121

See, the marker bled straight through to the next page! (Also, very sorry for the terrible lighting) But I actually kinda like this one. My first decent drawing in a while. I just might redo and frame that one.

DSC_0122

And then I had to go and waste all my ink on trying the spaghetti mountain thing. It was HARD. And I ran outta marker. But it kinda looks like I actually tried! Which is good, because I actually did try. Art is hard.

DSC_0123

*gags* WHAT. EVEN. IS. THIS. ATROCITY.ย  YUK. My eyes hurt right now. I was trying Buttercup’s hair tutorial and thought, “ooh, this isn’t too bad, let’s try the face!”
What was I even thinking?

This offends everything in me that has an inkling of art sense. Why. Be-yuk. I suppose I’ll have to keep practicing to be remotely good. But that’s okay. Nobody’s an expert at first try. Take this as proof what whatever you’re doing is ten times better than whatever I could conjure.

DSC_0125

Conversations.ย I kinda wish people would take this mug at their words. Lately I’ve discovered that many times a lot of hurt can be avoided if someone just takes the time to listen. Many of the hurt’s been caused by myself too, which I hope to end. Tea doesn’t hurt. ๐Ÿ™‚

Audiosmiths’ Release!ย We’ve been working very, very hard on this, and it’s finally out! Big thanks to Rebekah for taking on the editing work โค (also: was it hard getting an annoying Scottish accent that was probably incorrect? Answer: YES. VERY. ARGH.)

To sum up. Sometimes, random posts are really just random. They don’t make an ounce of sense, and honestly, you gotta ask yourself what’s the point.

I guess I don’t have any other than that after a long hard week,ย  people need a reason to smile again. If my recaps of an otherwise mundane life can do that, than I’ll consider this successful. XD It’s easy to look at the news and have your heart sink. But as Thor said:

DSC_0127

I’m telling ya, these comics have more insight then they let on. Maybe go read one sometime. ๐Ÿ˜‰ย  So here’s your funnies for the week. It made zero sense, but hopefully.. I dunno, maybe it got you to smile. ๐Ÿ™‚

Let’s see. What else have we?

At the rink I saw a boy towing his little sister on the ice, the two of them giggling their heads off. I saw an old grey haired couple lacing up and whizzing around. I saw those tiny, extremely small kids take their first steps on the ice.

And fall.

And I saw a bunch of my characters on the ice. ๐Ÿ˜€ Or at least people who looked precisely like my characters. It was awesome.

dsc_0194

I am guilty of doodling on the church bulletin during the sermon… oops. I did pay attention, but.. yeah, no excuse XD Afterwards I rather liked this quote, so I kept it.

dsc_0191

dsc_0192

Went out on a thrift store hunt, and came back with a couple of beauties. My aesthetic is slowly coming out of the Pinterest board and into real life. I even got my dad to buy “good vibes only” mugs- which I never even picked. Heh. One day I’m gonna convince my parents to let me wear the grateful shirt to church. ๐Ÿ˜› Otherwise I have a whole ‘nother post simmering about why on earth girl jeans have no real pockets. That’s just messed up. Anyhoo.

Um….

Y’all thought I was the best new blog of 2018?

*gasps*

*dies*

I’m really grateful and shocked and surprised that I was even nominated for the Emmie awards and Megan’s Best Of- thank you so so much, and again, it’s surprising that enough people like my random drabble- it’s not like I post anything revolutionary on here. So thank you. XD

Speaking of, my blog’s almost a year old. *screams* WHAT. HOW. WHY.

I’d do a giveaway, but I’m not. >:)

So yes, that’s a little thing I’m happy about.

dsc_0197

I can’t draw for the life of me, but I managed for this little guy! *pats it* It’s stuff like this that encourages me to keep trying to draw. And write.

Cause, yes, I’ve been in a rut creativity wise. But looking at this, and re-reading old WIPS and Just Come Home, I guess I got re-inspired.

And y’know, for some reason it’s the little things that inspire me.

I hope these have inspired you too. But hey, if not, that’s cool too! Maybe they made ya smile. ๐Ÿ˜€

dsc_0193

I will end this by saying that life is beautiful and I was reminded of that getting to see my new nephew- it’s precious and beautiful and soft and demanding.

And it’s a blessing indeed- down to the little things.

Scribble Scrabble: BIBPC Cat. 5, Slgiht Life Update, And Drabble

dsc_0162

Hello there, I’m tired. Who on earth are you?

Well, whoever you may be, thanks for coming over here. This won’t take too much of your time.

So for the fifth category of BIBPC, which has the ridiculously tricky category “disguise”, here’s my lame attempt and showing that in a picture.

jo-team bear- category 5

It’s terrible. But I can explain. When I was trying to figure out this prompt, I remembered the one time me and my brother switched DVDs to trick our brother into thinking he was watching Cars when in reality he was getting The Avengers or something. Which I thought was funny. And thus translated onto this picture. Antman and the Wasp is disguised as Pete’s Dragon. Sneaky. And seeing that the deadline for Cat. 5 isย today, I didn’t really have a choice. XD I’ve been busy!

Thanks for reading. See you for the next drive.

cropped-b9ef66fa-b504-491b-a2bd-b0e1a3ecde3b

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-Okay, if you scrolled this far, thanks for sticking with me. Because I shall now unload tragic backstory (TM) update on your poor brains. XD
This first week of January has been tough but good. School’s.. school. Slowly conquering that. Can’t complain.
I’ve gotten to read all the way to Luke in my Bible reading, and I’m really happy about that. Who knows, maybe I’ll read the whole New Testament before the summer! ๐Ÿ˜€
Look at that. The Piano Guys’ version of Rewrite the Stars came on and I’m energized now. The power of music.
Anyway. So a few days ago we got to watch Antman and the Wasp, and– I’m not sure if you’re into movie time with your family, but I am. It was so hilarious and good- actually it would be good if there was no swearing. Just saying. Anyway, it was hilarious, and the concept and the plot and the characters- my dad and I are now part of the “Give Luis his own movie” movement. The man is so great. I will probably love Scott Lang because he’s not an Enhanced. He messes up. He’s normal. He’s a dad. What makes him a hero is he wants to help. So yeah, I got character research done.
I haven’t touched Just Come Home in ever.
Yeah, I’m terrible.
But I HAVE been doing research for it- so if any of you guys are farm people, or live in small towns, or have family in the army CALL ME- I just found out my mom’s best friend lives off base during deployment, so I’m pretty excited to ask her some questions.
Weird, I know. But.. I want to be as authentic as possible. And I really wanna honor the people who live in small towns, on farms, and with family in the army/navy/marines/country’s defenses. So yeah. XD
I’ve been turning some of my poems into songs, and trying to get used to my voice. For those of you who’ve heard my covers on Welcome To Odyssey, you know it’s kinda on the squeaky side. But here’s hoping I can work on that- and that I don’t like… despise things about myself I can’t change. I have a habit of really really hating stuff about myself, and it’s gotta stop. Except I can still hate my sin nature and my temper and my doubts and anger because those parts of me areย bad. Sinful. And since I’m trying to live for God, they have to go. Boo. Shoo. Byeee.
But I mean like hating my voice, or that I’m awkward, or that I get really passionate about my interests. That kinda of stuff. That I’m too skinny or too inadept at volleyball, or that I’m not the best writer or I’m not perfect. There we go. I’m trying to stop hating that I’m not perfect. ๐Ÿ˜€
I’ve done a post about this before, but basically, God made me, “imperfections” and weird quirks and all. Who am I to say to hate that? To hate what God’s made and is making into something better? Does that even make sense? XD So I’ll laugh at myself singing originals to my camera and do it because I love singing.
Wow. I took 2 long paragraphs to say that? -_- Eh. I rant. What can I say?
Oh- happy almost Friday! ๐Ÿ˜€
Scribble Scrabble: It’s Not Even A Month And I Get Tagged
dsc_0118
So yesterday the lovely Tess had posted about a bunch of stuff, and in that post was a Liebster Award, which she tagged yours truly for.
Goodness, I haven’t had this tag in a while. This should be fun! ๐Ÿ™‚
ย  **********Liebster Awardy**************
I know the rules. Thanks Tess, I’ll answer the questions, say 11 things about myself (boring I’ll warrant) and tag 11 poor people who never saw it coming >:)
dsc_0181
What was your favorite TV show/movie when you were a kid?
Oooh, boy. That depends. I loved Dennis The Menace, Leave It To Beaver, Father Knows Best, and Walker, Texas Ranger. Movies? Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Brave, um… Prince Of Egypt. The list goes on.
What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives?
I think everyone should get away from the city into the wilderness for at least a day and a night, to get back into nature. Having just from a retreat, I supposed I’m biased, but I sincerely believe fresh air and no traffic noises can help almost anyone.ย
dsc_0046
What do you think is the best way to start the day?
Your favorite comfort drink and the Bible! Getting God’s Word first thing in the morning really helps get the rest of your day down pat.
What is one of your favorite smells?
This is gonna sound ridiculous, but I will have to say the smell of a hug. Not explaining any further because I don’t quite understand it myself. ๐Ÿ˜›
If you were suddenly put on a stage and told to deliver a speech, what would you talk about?
I would talk about how one life can change so many others simply by being, thanks to the ultimate life (*cough cough* The One Life *cough cough* Jesus’s life).
Do you think Wikipedia is a reliable source?
Like the general Wiki? I dunno. But for fandom wikis, they haven’t let me down yet. I’ve spent hours on AIOWiki and none of their info has proven to be false!
Whatโ€™s the worst advice youโ€™ve ever received?
Oh word Tess, you ask good questions. Um, I’d say “you need to be the example for your friends.” Honestly, why pick one kid to have to suffer being the role model, simply because their dad’s in the ministry? Also when said kid is just the same as the others? Do ya know how stuck up I had to feel, and I didn’t like it? Bleah.
What age would you like to live to?
Bold of you to assume I actually get to pick. XD I don’t know. 21. Because then I’m old enough to vote and join American Ninja Warrior.
dsc_0112
What do you want carved on your gravestone?
Huh.. umm… “Here lies Jo, seeker of truth. The bacon crumbles were never hidden long because of this.”
Or, or: “Jo: Professional awkward dork, lover of God. That’s all you need to know. Besides that Mitch was a good character. And Buck is a victim. And that God really does save.”
Have you ever saved someoneโ€™s life?
O_O
Have I WHAT now??
Boy, don’t I wish! I think I came close when one of the kids I babysit ran into traffic and I yanked her away from an incoming car? It all happened so fast, I can’t really remember.
Opinion on chow mein?
IT’S LIFE. My family always gets a tray on Sunday afternoons when we’re so tired and our blood sugars are unhealthily low. It’s so good. I could eat that forever. At least I wanna try.
dsc_0111
Well, that was easy. 11 facts however? Pfftโ€ฆ
I’m… 1) working on splicing Hastrman, so expect that coming anytime now, 2) going to read 100 books this year (including books of the NT so that takes away 27 books) 3) reading through the New Testament til April (hopefully!) 4) panicking because to move up a grade this year, I have to study twice as hard as I did last year, 5) writing to pen pals because they’re fun and my old one moved and I haven’t gotten the address yet. 6) My mom and I have a tradition every year. She cuts my hair, and we listen to AIO. 7) It takes 2 1/2 episodes for a full haircut. I checked. 8) I whole heartedly support the “give Luis his own superhero movie” movement, 9) am looking forward to Thursday because NEW EPISODE, 10) have an uncle whose parrot was mysteriously plucked bald and 11) have taken a bottle of maple syrup and drunk a little. I’m Canadian, what can you say? ๐Ÿ˜›
Sa wakas, I did it!
Now for the 11 people… goodness, who on earth picked 11? Did they just go trigger happy on the “1” key?
Scribble Scrabble: Snippets, Observations, And A Carol
DSC_0364
Monday. Dreadful, dreadful day. If Saturday brings out the best in us, Monday brings the worst.
Yet today wasn’t all that bad. If you don’t count the dreary sky, aching everything, tension so thick you could cut it with a knife, and *gasp* participles. In all seriousness though, I’m grateful for the day.
One, National Bible Bee Competition (Or Nats for short) started today. It’s unbelievably encouraging to see so many kids come out and own God’s Word and proclaim it, and I’m shook, to understate, to count myself one of the many who joined the Summer Study. Shook, grateful, blessed, have at the thesaurus.
Two, I managed to get out another carol (yes, I’m sorry for buggin’ y’all it’s just really fun to play these hymns! Even if my renditions are horrible XD) O Come, O Come Emmanuel brings yet hope for me, hope and a promise.
(Also, shoutout if you want to hear a specific song! I’ll do my best not to mess it up. ๐Ÿ™‚ )
Hymn Print O Come O Come Emmanuel by LamplightsPrints on Etsy, $14.00
Three, snippets.
But no context so you all can suffer. ๐Ÿ˜‰
She’s alone for Christmas, and somehow it hurts more and more every year.
But come now, in the deep bustle in New York City, you’d think a few more people would be flying the day solo. Right?
_Not a soul_, Andrea Marti thought bitterly as she looked around her, hand clutched on skateboard as she crossed the street. There was a couple walking in front of her, more like they were slow dancing to some music only they could hear, a guy eagerly holding his small- daughter, it had to be, she was so tiny, an old wrinkled man and an old wrinkled lady, laughing as they looked around at the gently falling snow. And some pigeon was nestled against a dog.
A pigeon had a dog.
A pigeon.
Writing seems to help a lot with the craziness of life, and Just Come Home is almost done.
Almost.
I’m a mess of a writer.
But here’s a snippet from that too. ๐Ÿ˜›
โ€œLittle annoying brat-how dare she say that about Mom the way she did..โ€ Zeke muttered my thoughts, handing me a water bottle. He was being unusually kind and helpful, which meant I was in worse than I thought I was. He was the one who got Mom to check on me, apparently I was thrashing in my sleep or something. I donโ€™t really wanna talk about it. But it was bad enough to let me stay home from school indefinitely. And I should know, my head was throbbing.
And to think I wanted to publish this mess of a story. *sighs* it’s my mess however- so at least there’s that small comfort.
And besides my thoughts, well, that’s it. ๐Ÿ™‚
Oh, no. you don’t want to know about my thoughts. That’s even more of a mess. Like how sometimes I feel bad for praying the same thing over and over but I know I mean it and it’s hard to understand that God doesn’t tire of me babbling the same thing; like how hope is something everyone wants but nobody quite knows how to get; like how heroes, even fictional ones, mean the world to us because if we’re honest we want to be the heroes; like how the mind can be quickly swayed by what’s around it; like how there should be an episode where Connie plans Trent and Mandy’s wedding cause how awesome would that be; like how the future seems super uncertain and trust is shaky; like how in the world is this month over already; like how am I gonna handle school and life; like why can’t I think straight for once.
I think I’ll leave you to you own thoughts now- I’ve bombarded you with words long enough. ๐Ÿ™‚
Scribble Scrabble: Come Behold The Wonderous Mystery And Comftyness
I have no excuses for this.
Zero.
Nothing to defend how horrible, utterly horrible this whole thing is.ย  And just when I thought I was doing pretty good at the whole YouTube thing, the background is a horrible mess. Remind me next time to use a recorder. Anyhoo. Hopefully the audio will be less terrible than the cover for it? ๐Ÿ™‚
Come Behold The Wondrous Mystery is one of my favorite songs, not just because it’s not necessarily a Christmas song, and not just because Matt Papa is awesome (he is), but the message is.. well, of hope. And we could use some of that. Hope you enjoy the cover and aren’t too disgusted with me at the completely aesthetic-less background.
Come Behold The Wondrous Mystery...
๐Ÿ™‚
Now the fun, semi better part! BIBPC! ๐Ÿ˜€ This is for the first category, cozy!
Jo Team Bear Category 1
Don’t that look cozy? No? If this looks off, that’s because it is. XD I’m trying to master the art of manual photography. It’s harder than I thought it would be. But it’s fun too, so that makes up for it! ๐Ÿ˜› Go Team Bear! (Seriously, though, I loved setting this up! I just wish I got the Christmas lights I spent a goo ten minutes preparing in the shot. Humph!)
Let’s see, what else is there that may be considered newsworthy?
A Wrinkle In Time was a confusing, interesting, mind-boggling book, and I’m glad I read it. Like, really glad. But also really confused. XD Next to tackle is Neil Flambe And the Marco Polo Murders. This should be interesting.
Currently enjoying The Winter Soldier because why not and plus it’s story research (I’m serious, y’all!) Sending emails and eating croutons. Planning for the next epic failure of a carol cover.
And writing this wee story for Write Christmas. Looking forward to that.
This post has been so not original. But I hope you enjoyed it anyway. ๐Ÿ™‚
Scribble Scrabble, Life Update, And All That Comfty Stuff
DSC_0028
This ole’ town of WordPress seems to be on the quiet side these days. Either everyone is at work, cramming for finals, or furiously typing before NaNoWriMo is done- I mean, we are like 1/3 done with the month. But I happen to be in the mood for a post, and I’ve missed copying and pasting pictures, XD so here goes.
Heya! How’s all out mundane lives coming along?
DSC_0010
My mundane life is rather.. mundane. But good! I guess.
-I’m actually keeping up with NaNo and not stressing half as much as I did back in Camp. And my wordcount goal was bigger than last time. Huh.
– School is always there, you cut off one assignment’s head, two more take its place. (Yes that was a reference)
-Speaking of references, Stan Lee died yesterday. For those who don’t know, he co-created, and carried Marvel Comics to where it is now, impacting a lot of people with his stories and themes and characters- heroes. We’re gonna miss him, and I say that with all seriousness.
– Jamming to a lot of playlists with some awesome artists: Skye Peterson, some guy who goes by eaglewingsandguitarstrings on Soundcloud, Taylor Davie and her mean rendition of the Avengers theme, the MCU themes themselves (which are amazing!) and Disney songs. ๐Ÿ˜› *whisper-screams The Hunchback of Notre Dame*
DSC_0011
DSC_0012
-my church had their 11th anniversary last last week, and I switched from photographer to media manager more times than I care to count XD There was too. much. people. Which isn’t good for introverted me.
-it SNOWED. Actual real wonderful snow. Sadly it melted, but hey, here’s hoping it sticks around next time.
-We’re one month from Christmas, and I’m slightly disgruntled that the stores are putting up so much Christmas decorations so fast. Oh well. The good news is Christmas music’s starting to play, which means I can fiddle all the Christmas carols I can think of in the street without too many weird glances.
-you guys Adventures In Odyssey’s latest album is coming up soon and I have scared my family twice by squealing at 11 pm. On the same night. Yes, I’m weird.
-I’ve read a bunch more books and they’re awesome. The book reviews should be coming annnyytime soon XD
DSC_0013
DSC_0014
-I’m already thinking of the next books for Zeke and Jake and MJ. Problem? I haven’t even finished Gale’s yet. *facepalms*
-There’s a lot of wanderlust (i.e. Pinterest searching even though I swore that off) going on.
-I tried drawing Eugene. Needless to say, it didn’t go well.
-The tight-throat bug is catching. Hpmh!
*sighs* And that’s pretty much it when it comes to my life. Now, I better get back to writing. But talk to me guys, hearing from you is awesome!
Scribble Scrabble- The First In A Long Time
DSC_0184
I haven’t done an official real Scribble Scrabble in forever. Maybe cause I haven’t been random enough for one. Life and all. But now I am! *cheers* Don’t blame me. Blame my very slow laptop. It’s a little long, so get comfy.
***********
Last Sunday it wasn’t too cold to take a walk, so I dragged my brother to the park and thought I could take a few pictures of it.
Thankfully it was sunny, despite the cold. Which kinda makes it better. ๐Ÿ˜›
And then the weather froze over, it snowed. *nod nod* Yes, there was white stuff on the roofs. It melted though, so I couldn’t cop a plea for a snow day. Moving on.
Early this week, I did something pretty stereotypical I guess I probably should be ashamed. XD But I’m not.
I took pictures of my dessert.
Okay, but to be fair, it’s not every day one gets a full on glass of halo-halo.
What is halo-halo?
DSC_0239
In Tagalog, “halo halo” literally means “mix mix.”
I prefer to think of it as pure goodness.
DSC_0226
Basically, it’s like bubble tea. Sorta. There’s some strange things in it. Mungo beans, shaved ice, ube paste, coconut gel, and lecheflan, not to mentioned condensed milk. It’s weird, but it tastes so good.
*sighs happily* That stuff is good.
What else? Well, I’m not sure if you’ve heard, but Megan makes inchworms out of polymer clay. And they’re really sweet too! So I thought I’d try making them. The thing is, I didn’t have polymer clay. I had homemade dough with green food coloring. So… you can see for yourself what happened.
DSC_0242
LOOK. LOOK AT DAT HORRIBLENESS. ๐Ÿ˜› XD
DSC_0247
It looks like such a messed up pair of inchworms XD XD But I guess they’ll do fine? There’s also a snake to this odd group of salt dough animals.
And then there’s this.
*dies laughing* This is me, trying to be creative at 10 pm on a school night. Good heavens what on earth is this weird creature??? Guess for me, will ya please?
ย *****
Ehm. So that was more of a photo dump. I hope ya enjoyed that.
Update on the trying to get out of an unproductive rut: I’ve found that cutting off the unnecessary stuff has really helped me! ๐Ÿ˜€
Also, you might be wondering where on earth is the next part of The Ugly Ducky. (Actually you’re not, you’re glad it hasn’t appeared since because it’s so loooong) Weel, I have to admit that I’ve put it on pause. Why?
๐Ÿ˜‰ There’s something I’m working on that’s much better.. I hope. Stay tuned. This one, I’m dead serious about.
And that wraps up Scribble Scrabble for today! Have a great rest of the day. ๐Ÿ˜› Tune in next time for How To Befriend A Writer.. or something like that.
Takeaways From August (Scribble Scrabble)
DSC_0099
*eyes gleam evilly*
I have waited very long for this. My fingers have missed the clickety clackety of the keyboard. And ha, you thought I milked every drop outta August? Not yet! ๐Ÿ˜›
It’s Friday. It’s the last Friday of August 2018. BAAAAAAAAAWWWHHH.
Anyway.. I’da waited til September, but I have enough pictures to make one last August post. Hence a Scribble Scrabble XD *waits for pictures to load*
We still gotta talk about Julie, my bell pepper plant! Well, guess what. She grew up! It’s red. A red bell pepper plant.
DSC_0070DSC_0071DSC_0072
I mean, considering how I only want to grow stuff to eat them, this is kinda pathetic. But, hey, IT’S A VEGETABLE. Not a bad start. *sobs* She’s all grown up!
Ooh, yay, the pictures are loading!
Ahem. Anyway, so…
Crabapples. Or at least I think they’re crab apples.
We had stopped in front of a friend’s house to drop off equipment and a crab apple tree was in bloom. At least I think they’re crab apples. For all I know they could be the Forbidden fruit.. or something. These little things are lots of fun to pick and hurl onto the road for cars to squash em flat to take pictures of, of course.
They just taste weird. I tried.
But wait, if they indeed are the forbidden fruit, then *gasp* I should be dead!
*shudders*
L&HD News will update you on this alert as it unravels.
Bye, crab apples of August. Hope you don’t kill me.
Anyhoo, I never did get to finish that challenge of Cassia’s.. oops. Sorry about that. I’m still looking for a train station. Heehee.
But I did get some puddles. One puddle, to be precise.
DSC_0018DSC_0024DSC_0027DSC_0028DSC_0030
Puddles, puddles, puddles! Splashing in em, taking pictures in em, getting my mom scared that I’ll ruin my dslr by putting it a tiny bit too close to the edge.. puddles are fun. It was a rainy Sunday, so. *nods*
So yeah August was fun. Hard. The storm.
-lotsa questions
-some glares
-lotsa 5 am belting out random songs
-heat (It’s HOT)
-late night talks
-Solid Joys. I’ve been listening to the devotionals by Pastor John Piper, and they really make you stop and think about the Bible. As well they should.
-mug cakes
-microwave cooking (which my mom doesn’t really like but it’s a means to an end!)
-roleplaying with a lot of great people (and some videochatting and staying up late)
-scheduling for school (nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!)
-geeking out about Adventures In Odyssey cause I’m like the only kid who hasn’t hear it yet and I wanna buy the album
-actually doing homework
And I’ve been writing. BOOM! It’s been tons of fun. Especially if you change the text color. It’s my personal opinion that textbooks would be a lot more interesting to read if you could pick the color. Who wants to read in black all the time?
Done ranting. More random photos.
Puppies!!!!!! Those little wittle puppies!
Ahem.
Random photography is my favorite. Cause, y’know, I’m pretty random meself?
Anyway… the fun part!
Playing Favorites!
It’s time, yep. I get to choose my favorites, and you get to suffer reading about it! ๐Ÿ˜›
Favorite Book
This month’s favorite would have to be…โ€ฆ.
Okay, I would totally pick one of the books I’m alpha reading. But since they haven’t exactly been published yet, I’m gonna have to pick something that is. *sniffles* And this is a good book. This is Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus, by Nabeel Quershi. Reading about his life, and how he came to Christ, has been inspiring, and it’s helped me see things in a different angle. Did I enjoy this book? Yep. Was I challenged to be stronger and less passive in my faith? Yep.
Favorite Song
Wanna know what I’ve been listening to to keep me awake?
Rewrite The Stars, The Piano Guys cover.
*sniffles* The lyrics of the original are.. meh.. but this cover is beautiful. I’ve been trying to learn it on the violin, but like everything else, it’s gonna take some work.
Go check it out! Unless you’re not a fan of cello or piano music, or that kinda music isn’t your thing or.. yeah.
Favorite Quote
๐Ÿ™‚
This has summed up my month, along with Mary Slessor’s “Pray on, dear one- the power lies that way.”
Hope this random post put a grin on your face. See ya.
Gotcha There, Didn’t I? ;) Another Edition Of Scribble Scrabble
If you were thinking the last post was all I was going to do, then you, my friend have been sorely terribly horribly very mistaken! *chuckles evilly* XD
Anyway, at the time of writing, it’s Sunday afternoon. Sunday afternoons are good for naps, and rest, and enjoying the sunlight. And replotting, rewriting, and deleting old drafts. And planning of the future days, weeks, down to the miniscule hours if you’re that picky. (It never goes the way we’d planned, but hey, one can dream!) Rest is very good to dull and weary and tired bones, dontcha think?
So, without further ado.. the next edition of Scribble Scrabble!
(I really don’t know why I give these random posts so much fanfare, but oh well.)
Thing 1! An Enjoyable Afternoon On The Front Porch
There’s nothing like staring in the clouds, not having a care in the world, enjoying the fresh air, the birds up ahead, the sun on your face.
Except when you have to go inside cause it’s too hot, but while it lasts, enjoy!
Except I didn’t take pictures of the sky, the clouds, or the sun. Iย did take pictures of..
Old bikes. *grins sheepishly* I miss riding on a bike, going nowhere. It’s just really relaxing, y’know? Anyhoo, I got to skim through a good book and devour frozen blueberries, so we’re all good.
Thing 2! Donuts
ย Thing 3! A Drive Down The Road
ย ย  Well, isn’t this random.
ย ย  It is. It’s a random topic from a random post from a random blog from a random person. Hopefully you’re into random things.
ย And this random isย  trio of pictures on a drive. Enjoy.
Thing 4! The Inevitable Future Of The Inevitability Of School And The Future In General
ย  It’s August. We only have 25 more days of it. And after that, the dreaded thing called school will come on full force. And work. From now on everything must be taken in account of homework, schedules, and whether or not we have an ample amount of caffeine.
(Unless y’alls are starting already, or are about to, then more power to ya!)
This was my attempt at planning for the inevitable future. A rather poor attempt, if I’m honest with myself. Mostly because I never follow my schedule. ๐Ÿ˜› But I have to. This time. Or at least die trying. It’s a noble cause, right?
ย I guess I’m reluctant to leave the summer behind. Even if my summer was mostly spent behind a screen.
DSC_0449 <—- the screen I spent most of my summer behind. I did other things too!
ย ย  There have been so much amazing things going on, and I want to hold on to it. But on the other hand I can’t wait to see what will happen in the future. Different grade, new things, new courses. It hasn’t all been easy- school and life right now are a wonderful combination of stress. But I’m still looking forward to it.
ย You’d be excited too if you saw all these stories pop up. *shushes you*
ย Is that it?
ย Yes, that’s it.
ย I think that’s it.
ย In the words of Somebody, “that’s all I have to say.”
ย Now, if you’ll excuse me, I needs must go and work on brainwashing a character. Be seeing you!
