The Avengers 4 Endgame trailer. For reluctant family asking me about it because I’m the “expert.” XD For overall anticipation because that up there? That’s the endgame. Scary. For my mom refusing to believe Loki really died. For being able to find (as a writing critic, what’s new XD) the good and bad elements of these movies. For waiting in a weird sense of hope along with who knows how many other people.

DSC_0244

For ohana -as weird as it works in my family, it works. For mahal na mahal kita (I love you very much) and for ang gulo mo!! (Which roughly translates to, “you’re a walking blur of confusion”) For caffeine injected chocolate mini bars. Also known as the very thing needed for life.

IMG_3151

For the intricate development and detail going on in the Frozen 2 trailer (yes, really!), for music that has been and probably will be one of the few things that can keep me alive, for Sleeping At Last and Owl City and this list could go on forever. For the sun rising any time now while I write this. For the sun setting when I was writing the WTO post. The fact that the sun has been rising and setting for the better part of a couple centuries and hasn’t once got caught on a hook halfway. For the sounds of a city in the morning. For the morning. For coffee, who am I kidding.. and for a new day.

DSC_0016.JPG

For a thousand portals to a thousand different worlds in paperback form. For the ability to be lost into a book even after you’ve read the last page. For the rare and precious gift (if used wisely) of imagination. For fandoms, and the aggressive-passiveness you tend to have when discussing anything related to them. For favorite characters that are favorite because they are real and they’re broken and they’re flawed but they still come back strong anyway. For egg salad sandwiches, not that it has anything to do with this paragraph. 😛 For once good story plots *glares at Star Wars* and for forever good stories that never get old. (Come onnnn SW I still had faith in you!)

Jo Team Bear Category 1

Hot tea. Sassy mugs. A charged up MP3. The smell of rain after a rain. The smell of snow falling down. A giant blanket with a secret stash of tortilla chips and a good book hidden in it. That perfect moment when you have perfect harmony with your duet. YouTube. *coughs* A worn and dependable T-shirt.

DSC_0013.JPG

For friends that will throw their hands up in the air at you, but refuse to give up on you. For laughter at 7:15 PM because of a hilariously done (aka terrible) accent. For platforms that exist to connect you with people you’ve never even seen face to face. For the fact memes exist as well. For training, for living, for a thousand story ideas whirring around and around until one sounds coherent enough to work on. For Canva. And for bacon crumbles. Duh.

Have you ever heard of this really old song called, “count you every blessings, name ’em one by one?”

I didn’t even scratch the surface. And y’know, I don’t think anyone can. If they stop to think about it.

Wow, this got serious for a really late tag. 😛 But oh well. It is what it is.

Tell you what, take a look at this list and see if I missed anything. See if there’s anything you can add. Because there is so much to be grateful about. Because we’re about as full as we are grateful.

Even The Sky Cries

IMG_3105

She couldn’t stop herself, and truth be told, she was glad for it. Even if they looked at the one tear rolling down her cheek with disdain. “You can cry all you want, but it doesn’t really matter,” they said.

Her eyes narrowed, and the light from above glinted  like fire. “One tear is all I want? really? You underestimate me. I don’t cry. ” she replied, her voice both steely and breaking.

Even if she wanted to. Even if she felt her heart being stabbed over and over by a mindless sword that didn’t care if it was beating and feeling still.

Well. It would feel no more.

Excuse her for breathing.

Storytime: Once upon a time, a long long time ago, my siblings and I watched this movie called Song of The Sea.

See the source imageThis amazing beautiful sweet story, which I’d love to talk about another time, is about a great many things. But in it, the MC meets an old owl (the bad guy) who takes away emotions so that they don’t feel. Consequently turning the people whose emotions are suddenly drained, into rocks.

Bad right? But it turns out the bird’s just trying to help. See, her son lost a lover (or something like that, don’t ask me) and he cried so much he filled an ocean with his tears. (Again, don’t ask me, it’s animation, anything’s possible.) So to relieve his pain, his mom, who happens to be the weird owl, took away his ability to feel. She offers that same choice to the MC, saying that feelings are baggage and they hurt and stuff like that. But the obvious problem is that when you don’t feel, you become hard and well, very similar to a rock. Dead. Cold. Unfeeling. You know the type.

DSC_0577

Next case in point:

If you’ve ever watched Inside Out, and seen those very confusing little animated emotions try to manage their human, there’s always one who’s trying to manage everyone else, isn’t there? And that would be.. Joy.

See the source image
This bean.

She’s kinda a lot like the owl from the first movie, except instead of locking up all emotions and bottling it away, Joy (the sweet naïve personified emotion) tries to make sure her human only feels happiness. All of her coworkers agree- except maybe Sadness. Because she’s too busy being sad. And in Joy’s little head, NOBODY needs Sadness. Sadness is a burden, the emotion you need to push away. Right?

Mm…no. Just no.

I know Song Of The Sea and Inside Out are only movies, but the thing is they kinda have a point. The same point this post has (*gasp* it actually does!): Happiness is not the only emotion you have to feel, and you can’t just bottle up your emotions, neither.

You need to let yourself feel Sadness sometimes. Or Fear. Or Anger. And hey, this isn’t just movie characters- (going preachy, sorry about that) a ton of people from the Bible are recorded to have more emotions that just happiness.

IMG_2908

Read the Psalms. Some of David’s writings are brimming with sadness and pain and guilt.

Elijah had to run for his life from Jezebel and wanted to die on a number of occasions.

Paul mentions the Corinthians being in sorrow because of what he said.

Jesus was so mad at the priests turning the temple into a marketplace, He overthrew the tables.

Also, Jesus wept at Lazarus’ tomb.

Want me to say it again?

The Son of Man, the Son of God, the Savior of the world, the KING, wept at the tomb of his friend.

Wept.

Down with that “big boys don’t cry” now, okay? It’s wrong and not true. Thanky ‘ou.

Why did Jesus cry? Weep? Even though he knew that he would raise Lazarus from the grave? I don’t really know. And if anyone does know, please tell me. XD My point is, Jesus Himself felt sadness.

Which is weird, considering Paul (at least I think it was, those NT writers sometimes sound similar) told us, “Rejoice, and again I say rejoice!”

How can you have joy when you feel sadness?

DSC_0083

Maybe…  because joy does not equal happiness.

People have written books about it, and songs and plays and have spent their whole lives trying to find it, but the actual working definition seems to be elusive. Sometimes you can find joy even in the hardest circumstances. Sometimes it’s easy to find it. Sometimes you can’t be brought down because you have it, and sometimes the world comes crashing down and you can still have it.

Joy comes from the only true and lasting source: God. Everything else fades eventually. And God isn’t just there for your joy, He comforts in sorrow and in grief, He forgives you and helps your guilt, it’s not like once you’re a Christian you’ll be a hundred percent happy. Just that whatever you’re going through, you can draw your strength from Him. 🙂

I could be wrong (well, not about where joy comes from). Don’t ask me for advice on anything, and don’t take whatever you read here as truth. But that’s what it seems to be like. And I’d know.

See, I’m one of those rock people. Many times I’ve wished that I couldn’t feel, it hurt too much and I didn’t like it. I forced myself to be dead to anything remotely sad, just because I couldn’t handle it.

DSC_0069

Still kinda struggling with it, to be honest. By the time my wish came true, I’d already had a thick shell I didn’t want anyone to touch. A tough face. A comeback for every insult.

Yeah, don’t try that.. it’s just… kinda..don’t.

What I eventually learned? Those walls only keep you in. Sadness hurts. And sometimes letting it out can help. If you keep it in, it’ll fester.. kinda like a nasty blister. It hurts to feel. But it hurts more to not feel. Even if it’s only joy you’re trying to feel.

Why did I take almost a thousands words to say this, I don’t know. But I guess what I’m trying to say is: It’s okay to cry. No, you shouldn’t be driven by your emotions and have a sobbing party every other Wednesday afterevening because someone hurt your feelings, but you can’t go to the other extreme and bottle all those feelings up and toss ’em away.  Reach out to someone who might really need a friend. Let your heart beat again. Let go of the idea that you’re not strong if you cry. It takes great strength for a person to share their feelings. Even Jesus cried.

Even the sky cries.

life is a highway, Jo

Mountains, Gandalf. Mountains!

DSC_0313

There are things in life that make you go, “wow.” It can be anything from a cake that plops out of the pan perfectly, to the Grand Canyon, finding out Mitch came back,  a really cool science experiment, a sunset, the ending of Infinity War, and a perfectly executed skate move. Take your pick.

My “wow” thing last Saturday was a random hike in bluffs in Scarborough.

DSC_0281

I love hikes, I love roughing it out, climbing things, risking falling, discovering new paths, and capturing the whole thing on my camera. Thanks to school though, and then other projects, those times are few and far in between. But when they do come, it’s pretty epic.

Last Saturday I was plugging on this laptop for said secret project that I’m super excited about that I ain’t saying a thing about when my mother told us to get moving. It was only when we were all in the car did I find out we were going to Bluffer’s, a place I haven’t been since I was nine. Long time. Good times. Anyway, let’s skip the part with traffic, headaches, and lack of internet and jump into the part we began walking.

DSC_0278

The good thing about fall hikes are no bug bites, beautiful foliage, and really fresh air. Not to mention perfect weather. The bad thing- where is the bad thing in this?

DSC_0288
DSC_0289

Thanks, brother. The shot wouldn’t have been as interesting without you. Anyway, nothing said nostalgia like walking through those muddy paths again- a’course we walked right through some poor couple’s photoshoot, complete with real flash and what not. I hope they didn’t mind.

DSC_0291

Okay, so it wasn’t a mountain. It was still epic though. Although I probably was going to climb it if it weren’t for the obvious sign, the recent small landslide, certain death (because if the bluffs didn’t kill me my mother certainly would) and a camera. Hmph. 😦

But the view was more than worth it.

DSC_0294

Look at that. It’s beautiful.
DSC_0295
DSC_0301

It was hard to take pictures of the whole thing without running into someone else taking a picture too, or (even worse) someone actually chipping off the bluffs. Which confuses me but oh well. 😛
DSC_0320
DSC_0323

About ten times you’da heard someone yelling at me to slow down, and with a view like this? I didn’t blame them. It’s amazing how beautiful God’s creation is.

DSC_0324
DSC_0327

Now, most of the time we go on hikes, we go to the main attraction, stay a while, then head back.

This time though, something musta taken over all of us, because we unanimously agreed to keep going. Which is probably a family thing, but oh well.

DSC_0330
DSC_0333

Okay, now that I think about it I probably convinced everyone to keep going, considering how far ahead I was. 😛 But hey, it worked out!

DSC_0347
DSC_0358

I think one of the “wow” things that made it for me was how peaceful the water was. It hardly looked like it was moving at all, and it kinda made me want to grab a canoe and paddle to the edge of the sea. Again, certain death stopped me. But still, it was so breath-taking. No joke, I had to catch my breath for a good five minutes.

DSC_0364

Someone set a wittle adowable gnomon here, so I shall show it to you as well. I almost knocked it and myself over the log in the process. XD

DSC_0370

By the time we decided to head back, we’d been walking for over two hours past a bluff, up a steep road, through a fancy neighborhood, and backwards (don’t ask.) And then there was one tiny problem.

DSC_0392

We had to walk down the side of the bluff. Like straight down. As you can see ^.

To avoid sounding like a fisherman who got the big one I’ll just say it was a really interesting trip down. 😀 And added to the “wow”.

Which this whole hike was. And which is why I enjoyed it.  My only problem later was I was hungry. XD

Have a good day, all y’all!

Scribble Scrabble- The First In A Long Time

DSC_0184

I haven’t done an official real Scribble Scrabble in forever. Maybe cause I haven’t been random enough for one. Life and all. But now I am! *cheers* Don’t blame me. Blame my very slow laptop. It’s a little long, so get comfy.

***********

Last Sunday it wasn’t too cold to take a walk, so I dragged my brother to the park and thought I could take a few pictures of it.

DSC_0218

Thankfully it was sunny, despite the cold. Which kinda makes it better. 😛

DSC_0219
DSC_0220
DSC_0221

It was unusually quiet and empty, which was a little bit sad, but probably for the best, cause my poor camera wouldn’t survive. 😛
DSC_0222

Huh, now this slide reminds me of the time I fell off on and scratched my face. I was five and at church camp. Good times.

Fall really became fall recently. All those colors everyone keeps talking about burst into view.

DSC_0213

And then the weather froze over, it snowed. *nod nod* Yes, there was white stuff on the roofs. It melted though, so I couldn’t cop a plea for a snow day. Moving on.

**************

Early this week, I did something pretty stereotypical I guess I probably should be ashamed. XD But I’m not.

I took pictures of my dessert.

Okay, but to be fair, it’s not every day one gets a full on glass of halo-halo.

What is halo-halo?

DSC_0239

In Tagalog, “halo halo” literally means “mix mix.”

I prefer to think of it as pure goodness.

DSC_0226

Basically, it’s like bubble tea. Sorta. There’s some strange things in it. Mungo beans, shaved ice, ube paste, coconut gel, and lecheflan, not to mentioned condensed milk. It’s weird, but it tastes so good.

DSC_0227
DSC_0228

I guess it’s kinda silly, but hey. It’s beautiful. XD

DSC_0230
DSC_0231

DSC_0235

*sighs happily* That stuff is good.

************

What else? Well, I’m not sure if you’ve heard, but Megan makes inchworms out of polymer clay. And they’re really sweet too! So I thought I’d try making them. The thing is, I didn’t have polymer clay. I had homemade dough with green food coloring. So… you can see for yourself what happened.

DSC_0242

LOOK. LOOK AT DAT HORRIBLENESS. 😛 XD

DSC_0247

It looks like such a messed up pair of inchworms XD XD But I guess they’ll do fine? There’s also a snake to this odd group of salt dough animals.

DSC_0248

And then there’s this.

DSC_0246

*dies laughing* This is me, trying to be creative at 10 pm on a school night. Good heavens what on earth is this weird creature??? Guess for me, will ya please?

 *****

Ehm. So that was more of a photo dump. I hope ya enjoyed that.

Update on the trying to get out of an unproductive rut: I’ve found that cutting off the unnecessary stuff has really helped me! 😀

Also, you might be wondering where on earth is the next part of The Ugly Ducky. (Actually you’re not, you’re glad it hasn’t appeared since because it’s so loooong) Weel, I have to admit that I’ve put it on pause. Why?

😉 There’s something I’m working on that’s much better.. I hope. Stay tuned. This one, I’m dead serious about.

And that wraps up Scribble Scrabble for today! Have a great rest of the day. 😛 Tune in next time for How To Befriend A Writer.. or something like that.

After A Long And Most Interesting Week, Yours Truly Is Back!

Hey y’all! Greetings and salutations! I have returned! *blows trumpets and beats drums at the same time* Missed me? 🙂 The past days of my hiatus were filled with, well, stuff to do, so if you’re interested, keep reading!

IMG_2974

Where do I start?

The early days of the week were all on my novel prep. If you didn’t know, writing is something I would like  to do professionally… one day… someday. And camp NaNo in July is something I really, really am looking forward to. That being said, I underestimated the amount of work one has to put into writing a novel, and well— I crammed. Rebekah’s post here really helped, and a lot of copying and pasting was done. And a lot of chocolate was consumed. And late nights spent. And some ranting about characters happened. Yes, good times.

I really enjoyed all the novel planning on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, but Saturday was the best day of the week.

IMG_2990IMG_2991

The weekend,  especially Saturday, was probably the busiest days of the entire year so far, because I and my family got to fly out and see family.  It was hectic. Whatever you do, don’t fly to a place one day and leave the next! The view was beautiful, though.

IMG_2998IMG_3020

IMG_3024IMG_3031IMG_3041IMG_3054

It was a little cloudy, but as the flight progressed, the sky turned a brilliant blue.

IMG_3061IMG_3062

Moral of the story: Try to get a window seat when flying!

Anyway, the reason why Saturday meant so much to me was because I got to see pretty much all of my family.

The thing about my family is that we are scattered on the face of the earth. Well, kinda. It’s not easy to see each other often, and any chance we get is one to take.

IMG_3151

I think that it was all worth it. I got to hold my cousins’ adorable babies, catch up with even more cousins (one of whom said blogging was boring, hmph! This is also the cousin I argue with a lot, so not much surprise there), talk with my uncles and aunts, and even use my cousin’s DSLR!! It was the best camera I ever held!

IMG_3150

Anyway, the other thing about my family is that we’re so close, yet so far away. Family is where I’m home. Where I can laugh. Who I pray for and who prays for me. And I am so grateful to God for giving me: uncles who will beg me to visit them, aunts who will ask how I’m doing, cousins who will say goodnight for the upteenth time and make lame jokes and compare height differences, but also pray with and for me, a sister who will make me straighten up, brothers to tease, parents who care and provide, and the stories and legacy of my grandparents. This is my family, and this is what Saturday was for me. Besides staying up late, checking in, flying, landing, driving, and donuts, of course. Don’t ask about the donuts.

IMG_3152

Aw no! This was a picture of horses, but I couldn’t keep up with the car! *sniff sniff*

IMG_3080IMG_3087

Ah! Chikfila! That was a highlight of the 5 hour long drive from the airport, for sure. But no, that’s not the sweet tea. Ugh, too sweet.

So, that was my week in a nutshell, and while I wish I could’ve spent more time with my family, I am glad to be back, and ready to write and study and eat ice cream! (boy, that was random.)   I haven’t forgotten the great bloggers who tagged me! I’ll be sure to finish some of the tags. Soon.

Well, now, the time has come for me to bid adieu, because we have some summer cleaning to do. Thanks for reading!

Scrolling Through The Pictures + A Goodbye.

Hey y’all! Happy Sunday! Greeting and salutations! I hope you’re all well.

As a farewell, because I’ll not be posting for the rest of the week (unless I have a brilliant idea) I have gotten my pictures for you and I’ll be saying adieu. This shall pretty much have me wander through various topics of discussion, so as an automatic warning, brace yourself!

IMG_2940

“We were picking out notes and learning the parts
To different radios we were singing along
It was the same song” (Andrew Peterson, Same Song)IMG_2941

And now til next week, this probably shall be my last post because of school, life, and some NaNo preparation. I’ll still read all your latest posts and comment!

And now the collective sigh of relief at the fact that my random self shall not clutter your Reader with my posts should be going up anytime now. Yes, you can breathe and relax, knowing that I won’t be around to make you scroll through dozens of pictures of books or skies or flowers- you know the rest.

IMG_2942

But if you find that you miss the randomness of reading about life through these lens, rest assured: I shall return! With more pictures of actually interesting things, more stories, and more slightly fascinating things! So stop by once in a while, will ya?

IMG_2943
For some reason I thought this was interesting. I turned my camera upside down and came up with this…. very strange picture.

Scribble Scrabble The.. 5th? (I have lost count)

Dedicated to Charles, my good friend.

Greetings and salutations, people! A very merry Friday to all! It’s time for another Scribble Scrabble, in which I do a lot of random things, take a look back, and get tagged. Lots of fun stuff.

Random Thing 1! Beautiful Sunsets

Over the week, I got to take pictures of various gorgeous sunsets. They were all beautiful. You never know the things you’ll see if you just look out your window. That being said, go get off your device and go look out your window! Even better, go outside!!! What is the fresh air for if not to be enjoyed?

IMG_2899IMG_2900IMG_2901IMG_2902

IMG_2903
One of my favorite pictures!

IMG_2904IMG_2905IMG_2906IMG_2907IMG_2908IMG_2910

IMG_2898

Random Thing 2!

I know I have bored you all to death with endless pictures of my bell pepper plants, but you’ll have to deal with it again, because they grew! My preciouses!!! I need names for them, so please let me know in the comments, ok?

IMG_2894IMG_2895

Anyway, enough of plants..

Random Thing 3! More sky!

So we went for a drive, and I came home with some pictures! Hee hee, it’s pretty automatic that I’ll take at least one picture. We also got a pretty cool thing that I will tell y’all about in another post. XD I’ll let you know, it’s big and so cool!!

IMG_2913IMG_2916

IMG_2921
The Domino’s sign of a delivery car. They sure make good pizza.

IMG_2922IMG_2923IMG_2927IMG_2930IMG_2932

Random Thing 4! Lydia is holding a writing contest!

The lovely Lydia, who held the photography contest known by the original name of MOOP, invites all bloggers and writers to join her new contest, known as ITWC. What is this strange acronymated contest?

Go check it out for yourself!

I’d love to join, but the challenge known as Camp NaNo is coming, and I’ve been planning to join that since April. I’m looking forward to it!! In April I was pretty casual with my first story, figuring out the characters as I wrote them in. Which has fun, but I ended up with a mystery that I’m too afraid to write! 😛 So now, I’m doing serious character charts and world building and all that writing stuff (very accurate phrase!) and premise thingys. I think I’m prepared?

Random Thing 5! I got tagged!!

Yep, yours truly got tagged by a lot of people, so I better start getting them all down. One of the tags I was tagged for was the Liebtster Award,  by Clara! Go check her blog out! It’s great!

Ask a family member to describe you in 3 words. What did they say?

Crazy, smart, and short. All of which my brother said I was.

Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?

To be really honest, I don’t know what’ll happen in 10 months, let alone 10 years! I look forward to seeing what God wants me to do for Him. Um, maybe working, getting a DSLR, and hearing the next albums of AIO. I don’t know! Oh, and serving at church.  I’d love to road trip through all of Canada and the US, but I have no way of knowing if it will be in the next 10 years.

Can you whistle, snap your fingers, and go cross-eyed all at the same time?

Um, let’s see. I can whistle and snap my fingers at the same time, but not go cross-eyed. How’s does one do that, anyway?

What is an irrational fear that you have?

The dark. I can’t help it, the dark is kinda, very creepy. But I only get scared of the dark when I’m thinking of or up mystery stories. XD

Do you have a nickname? If so, how did you get it?

A girl I take care of at church couldn’t say my name right, and it ended up being Jonah. Yes, Jonah.

Favorite band and favorite song by that band?

Does Andrew Peterson’s band count? Cause that’s my favorite. And I have a lot of favorite songs! His Heart Beats, World Traveler, and Is He Worthy.

Sunny or rainy days? Why?

Both! Sunny, because of sun, and rainy because of the rain. 😛

What’s the weirdest place you’ve ever visited?

Um…I don’t know.. the mall?

Favorite smell?

Apple pie, fried chicken, and a bunch of flowers.

Without looking it up, can you pronounce “Worcestershire” correctly?

Nope. Nuff said.

Do you play any instruments? If not, what instrument would you like to learn?

Yes! The violin, piano, and guitar. Still need lots of practice though.

11 Random Facts-

I like the color blue

I love reading Romans

my first pair of glasses were crushed by a Bible commentary

I once won a contest but got disqualified because I was from Canada

it’s cloudy today

I once hit a bullseye at camp

Also love camping

I joined a writing challenge 3 days before it ended

Random Thing 6! Scribble Scrabble presents… A Look Back!

I  like to wander, and I like road trips. I like to take pictures of road trips on road trips. These were from returning home after watching the great eclipse in South Carolina. Enjoy! (Yes, I took all these pictures, in case you were wondering.)

I saw the world the Lord has made
Mostly from the interstate..” (Andrew Peterson, World Traveler)

HARPs 7 Finale #1! Sky’s The Limit

This post is dedicated to my favorite pencil, which was lost a day ago. May it rest in piece, until I hopefully find it before my test tomorrow.

Good morning people everywhere! Greetings and salutations!

I’m back again for Starling’s Happy and Random Posts Contest, and this happens to be the last round. Yay! Aren’t you glad I won’t be showing you 100+ pictures of books anymore?

Well, for this last topic:

1. Free Topic

I am going to show you guys…. wait for it…

“I will fly, I will fly,
Chase the wind and touch the sky.” – (Touch The Sky, Brave)
Yep, this free topic is all about the brilliant blue expanse.

Contrails are always fun to photograph. Just seeing that nice long streak of white slowly wander across the sky is kinda.. satisfying, for some strange reason.

One of my favorite things to do in the evenings is watch the sun go down. It’s gorgeous. The hues of the clouds, the rays of the sun, golden hour, it all is an amazing picture to capture.

These two I took way back in winter, back when it was nice and cold and air-conditioned.  Yeah, that was back in the day when dinosaurs roamed the earth.

Sunrises are just as beautiful to see as sunsets. Today I actually got to wake up early to see today’s sunrise. It was beautiful. (Sad to say, I have no pictures from this morning’s masterpiece.)

Unless there is no sun to rise, and all you have are clouds. *points below*

Goodnight cow jumping over the moon”- (Goodnight Moon, written by Margaret Wise Brown, arranged by Nina Stone)

Ah, the moon. I can’t take pictures of stars too well, but the moon, that I can see easily. Like a lone light that… automatically turns on in a really dark closet.

So much for trying to sound poetic.

It’s fascinating to think that it’s so bright, and yet it just reflects off the sun.

Now, the sun is pretty neat to take a picture of too! But also really tricky to take pictures of. See for yourself.

Last August, my family and I were able to see this amazing spectacle known as… an eclipse! For many of you, you probably were able to see it as well. A really great friend of ours got these special eclipse glasses for us (if you’re reading this, thanks a lot, by the way!), and we witnessed history.

Now, did I get a picture of this? Yes! Did I get a good picture of this? Sadly.. *hangs head* I, at the time, was even worse at photography than I am now, and.. well, you’ll just have to see for yourself.

Ah, the sky is something wonderful to gaze at, that’s for sure. I could stare at it for days… of course, one algebra lesson can feel like a week, am I right?

And now, *drumroll*…
